RASHEED & THE JAZZ COLLECTIVE
Richard Rasheed Howard has been playing trumpet for over 40 years. Throughout his career, he has toured with many jazz artists and groups such as 'The Sun Ra Arkestra' and Cecil Taylor. Rasheed's smooth jazz band, 'New Hype Jazz', has studied with Dave Burns, Richard Williams, Donald Byrd, Cecil Bridgewater, Woody Shaw, Al King (aka Hassan Hakim), Gilly Coggins, and Kasa Allah. Additionally, he has been mentored by Rodney Kendrick, Denton Darrion, Charles Carrington, and Wally Gator Watson.
Rasheed brings together the best musicians to form the Jazz Collective, performing for local and international audiences in and around New York City.
